A Note About Jam Nuts and the Consumer's Responsibility

The installer is the person or persons initially responsible for the proper setup of the suspension system and/or components and the initial tightening of the jam nuts. The consumer or vehicle owner is the person or persons responsible for maintaining the jam nuts tight. Jam nuts not only hold the orientation of a component or a joint, but their most important function is pre-loading the threads of the mating parts. Failure to not supply proper torque on jam nuts will result in the rapid deterioration of the threads in the control arm and will impose a "cause for concern" for the occupants of the vehicle. Failure to comply with the warnings headed in the directions regarding the amount of threads showing past the jam nut will also cause the same "cause for concern" for the occupants of the vehicle. All of the above items are the responsibility of the vehicle owner and or installer. If a threaded section of a component is bad it will show itself defective immediately. Threads that fail over time are due to improper maintenance of jam nuts and can be proven very easily. Thread sections not properly maintained or setup are not covered under warranty. This is the end user and installer's responsibility.

Product Finish

All products come with a 1 year finish warranty from manufacturer’s defect including manufacturer’s processes from the date of purchase. Nicks, chips, scratches or marks from shipping should be handled at the time of opening the products. Nicks, chips scratches or marks from installation or normal use that lead or cause a finish imperfection are the responsibility of the consumer or installation service center solely and are not warranted. For example, when tightening a jam nut, if the powder coat is cracked or chipped during the installation and corrosion starts at the end of the bar, this is not covered under warranty. After 1 year, proper care for the finish of your products in your area is required to maintain finish quality.

Shock Warranty

All RRD Racing Shocks come with a 1 year warranty from manufacturer’s defect including manufacturer’s processes from the date of purchase. This warranty is conditioned on the RRD Racing shocks being used under normal conditions and properly maintained as specified by Rock Krawler. All Twin Tube Shocks come with a six-month warranty from manufacturer’s defect from the date of purchase. This does not include subjective items such as ride quality and performance. Rock Krawler makes every effort to supply a properly tuned shock for our products and our products only. What is not covered within the 1 year term is improper use and or abuse. For example, if a shock pulls apart with a system with no limit straps or the bottom seals blow because the shock has been hard bottomed due to improperly set bump stops; those items are the consumer’s responsibility and thus not warranted. For remote reservoir applications, hose routing is the responsibility of the consumer. Damage to hose fittings, hoses or end caps with hose attachments is the responsibility of the consumer.

Terms of Warranty

This warranty is conditioned on the Rock Krawler suspension product being operated under normal conditions and properly maintained as specified by Rock Krawler. This warranty is only applicable to Rock Krawler suspensions purchased new from an authorized Rock Krawler source and is made only to the original retail owner of the new Rock Krawler suspension product and is not transferable to subsequent owners. This warranty is void if the Rock Krawler suspension product is subjected to abuse, neglect, improper or unauthorized repair, improper or unauthorized service or maintenance, alteration, modification, accident or other abnormal, excessive, or improper use.

Should it be determined by Rock Krawler in its sole and final discretion, that a Rock Krawler suspension product is covered by this warranty, it will be repaired or replaced, by a comparable model, at Rock Krawler's sole option, which will be conclusive and binding. THIS IS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THIS WARRANTY. ANY AND ALL OTHER REMEDIES AND DAMAGES THAT MAY OTHERWISE BE APPLICABLE ARE EXCLUDED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES.

This limited warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear, malfunctions or failures that result from abuse, improper assembly, neglect, alteration, improper maintenance, crash, misuse or collision. This limited warranty gives the consumer specific legal rights. The consumer may also have other legal rights which vary from state to state or country to country. Some states and countries do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or warranties, and if dictated by law the above limitations or exclusions may not apply to you. If it is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction that a certain provision of this limited warranty does not apply, such determination shall not affect any other provision of this limited warranty and all other provisions shall remain in full effect.

THIS IS THE ONLY WARRANTY MADE BY ROCK KRAWLER ON ITS SUSPENSION PRODUCTS AND COMPONENTS, AND THERE ARE NO WARRANTIES WHICH EXTEND BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION HEREIN. ANY WARRANTIES THAT MAY OTHERWISE BE IMPLIED BY LAW INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE EXCLUDED.

How to Submit a Warranty Claim

Any item subject to a warranty claim will need to be supported with digital images to clearly support your claim. Proof of original purchase also required. Warranty claim that requires proper setup or installation will also require validation of proper setup. For example, front coil springs require OEM end codes and proper spring positioning to function correctly. Thus, the top and bottom spring seats, caster specification, axle positioning both front to back and side to side need to be correct and validated prior to be considered for a warranty. The same goes for rear coil springs, but for the rear axle, the pinion angle needs to be correct and verified as well as axle positioning. For joints, bushings, etc., proper orientation and installation will need to be verified. If improper orientation exists, premature wear can and most likely will occur!
