The RRD 2.625" Remote Reservoir Shocks feature a fluted aluminum body that delivers a remarkable weight reduction without compromising strength. This makes it the lightest remote reservoir shock in its class, while also providing a surface area as large as a 3" diameter shock drastically improving cooling efficiency. The fluting enhances the structural integrity of the aluminum cylinders, ensuring they are just as strong, if not stronger, than steel 2.5" shock bodies. To prevent corrosion and minimize wear, the shock bodies are treated with a military-grade hard anodized coating, offering long-lasting protection.
These shocks come equipped with two high-quality DU shaft bearing and a massive 1" 17-4 PH Stainless Steel, hard chromed plated and polished shaft. The hard anodized billet aluminum valve circuit, combined with multi stage valving, offers precise damping control, while redundant sealing technology minimizes leakage. The specially formulated shock oil provides fade-free damping and smooth rebound, thanks to its high viscosity index and shear stability.
Additionally, a custom solid Teflon piston wear band significantly reduces shock body wear and handles extreme temperatures with ease. These cutting-edge features make the 2.625" Remote Reservoir Shock not only lighter than competing 2.5" steel-bodied shocks but also twice as fast at cooling, ensuring resistant performance. All RRD shocks come with a 6-month warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Key Features:
- 2.625” O.D. Military Grade Hard Anodized Fluted Aluminum Shock Body
- 2.625” O.D. Military Grade Hard Anodized Fluted Aluminum Reservoir Body w/ Internal Floating Piston Charged with Argon
- Cooling Surface Area of a 3.0” Shock
- 1” 17-4 PH Stainless Steel, Hard Chrome Plated and Polished Shaft
- Military Grade Hard Anodized Billet Aluminum Valve Circuit and Billet Machined Components
- Dual DU Shaft Bearings and Double Redundant Sealing Methods
- Serviceable/Rebuildable/Revalveable
Notes:
- The standard valve circuit flow is based off 60/40 split similar to most other manufacturers.
- Bushings with a clevis mounting width of 1 5/8” and a ½” or 9/16” bore on top and bottom or bearings with ½” I.D. and mounting width options of 1.25”/1 7/16”/1 5/8” available.
- Why Argon for charging our shocks? Argon has a molecular size that is almost 3 times that of Nitrogen so it does not weep as fast so recharging is not as frequently required, but yet Argon is still readily available at most commercial gas suppliers.
- Most all direct fit applications feature 2 Stage Valve Stacks.
